RESOLVED that the following policies be adopted:

To consider the report of the Clerk

Recommendations

a.     the Clerk develops and implements a councillors orientation programme based on the framework set out in this report;

b.     any resources required in addition to the budgets allocated are reported back to the Personnel Committee for consideration.

Minutes:

Councillors requested that orientation sessions are available as soon as possible following the elections and that photographs of staff are included in the councillor handbook in order to assist new councillors.

 

RESOLVED that:

 

1.    The Clerk develops and implements a councillor orientation programme based on the framework of the Councillor Handbook and as set out in the report;

2.    Any resources required to deliver councillor orientation in addition to the budgets allocated are reported back to the Personnel Committee for consideration.

Councillors were brought up to date on the Personal Development Interviews that are proving to be popular with staff who are identifying personal goals and their own training requirements.
