Amendments to Phase 3 of the Church View development (TENT1A) to provide 36 residential dwellings (Class C3) along with associated landscaping, infrastructure and works.

Cllr. Dr. Lovelidge advised that by putting more houses in, it has shifted the car ports further into the garden of one of the properties. One house in particular has an issue with it as it is bordering their back fence and it would spoil the enjoyment of their property.

Cllr. Carter advised that on Tent 1A there are some very small houses that Dandara are proposing in this new revised scheme and he believed that we should request that Dandara support the Tenterden Community Land Trust and put these affordable homes in Tenterden’s hands so these houses remain within Tenterden forever and are left behind as a legacy for the town in the future.

Cllr. Mrs. Walder agreed that we should make this request to Ashford Borough Council.

SUPPORT on Condition that the car port between plots 39 and 40 which will impact on No. 13 Recreation Ground Road is relocated to a more suitable position.

The Town Council would like to request that ABC look at opportunities for Tenterden Community Land Trust to be involved with Dandara in the provision of their affordable homes for phase 3.

2 Goodshill House Cottages, Cranbrook Road.

Proposed garage and workshop building and change of use of land to residential.

Cllr. Mrs. Walder reported that because this property is in the AONB it is subject to a variety of different requirements which the planning officer may seek to impose with regard to the use of building materials. The Supplementary Planning Guidance advises that it should have a cat slide roof. Cllr. Mrs. Walder advised that it is inappropriate in this context as Goodshill Cottages are farm cottages that have a particular look and requested that we should ask the planning officer to confirm that they are happy with the build, quality and materials used.  The position of the building is acceptable, however, a realistic balance needs to be met with regard to being in the AONB setting and the proximity to the other buildings.

Cllr. Quinton advised that it should be for private use only and not commercial use. Cllr. Mrs. Curteis agreed that this property has to be for private use only as  ...  view the full minutes text for item 7182.
