Cllr. Walder enquired as to whether the Deputy Town Clerk had received a reply from the Planning Officer with reference to the Land North of 14 Westwell Court application.  The Deputy Town Clerk advised she was waiting for a reply.

Cllr. Cole and Cllr. Dr. Lovelidge were concerned that the neighbours had not been consulted on this application. 

 

Cllr. Mrs. Walder commented that there are quite a lot of trees here and that the Tree Officer at Ashford Borough Council should advise on the removal of the trees and hedges.

 

SUPPORT on Condition that the neighbours are consulted on the application and the Tree Officer’s opinion is sought on the removal of the trees and hedges.

21-23 Ashford Road.

Change of use from retail to provide two C3 dwellings.

 

Cllr. Mrs. Walder expressed her concern that they could build far more units than only two flats with this property.  Cllr. Cole commented that this should stay as a retail unit.

 

Cllr. Mrs. Curteis and Cllr. Quinton advised that in the present climate the property would remain empty for a long period so to turn it into domestic use would be the best use of the property.

 

SUPPORT.  It is noted that this site would support more units than is currently proposed.

 

Cllr. Mrs. Walder voted against the decision and Cllr. Crawford abstained from voting.
