Minutes:

It was RESOLVED to accept the decision of the Internal Committee that the quotation of £2450 from the Black Forge at Wittersham should be accepted for the provision and installation of a new signpost. The Town Council will approach the relevant Ashford Borough Council Ward members and Kent County Councillor for a contribution.

It was noted that if the funding request has to be made by the St. Michaels Community Group, the Town Council would assist in this process.  The Town Council would take over ownership and responsibility of the post and cover its insurance.

Cllr. Carter requested that when the sign did go up, that any planting on the side of it ran parallel to the road and not at right angles to the road so that it avoided visibility problems which had happened in the past.
